Anatomy Series

I create representations of my anatomy and organs as if they are rebuilt structurally based on emotions. Sometimes I feel like I am not attached to my body due to pain or stress. I can push myself to ignore warning signs of distress, and while I know where my liver should be located, and where my pancreas is in relation to my stomach, and how my hip joins relate to my pelvis, I like the idea that they could respond to my emotions and restructure themselves based on my feelings. I think about my hips and gut and ribs more than my feet. I don’t always remember I have an elbow until I have pain in my wrist. Sometimes my head does not feel attached to the rest of my body. I wanted to represent the dichotomy between being contained in a vessel and yet also being that vessel, and what would happen if we could see everyone’s joy and sorrow, pain and pleasure reflected in their shape. What would your anatomy look like while in the height of new love? What does it look like when you're rejected? What about loneliness?
